Name: Jesse David Kessler
Nicknames/Stagenames: JD, Worth It
Age: 28
Hometown: Denver, CO
Occupation: Singer, Songwriter, Band Member
Label: Warner
Talents/Quirks: plays guitar
Likes: music, dogs, privacy, running, peanut butter, nature, long legged women
Dislikes: touring, drugs, white lilies, tuna, onions, talking about his past

Personality: He isn't a cowboy hat wearing kind of country singer, but as he was quoted once by a reporter "You can't tell a story screaming out the lyrics in a heavy metal venue, and I've got stories to tell, country music is what I make when I do that." He has a temper that can flare with a vicious bite, but tends to fade out quick. He tends to live in the moment, a little impulsive, and doesn't talk about the past. He has self-esteem issues, and trust issues, but he is getting more confident everyday. Like his friend he is developing a sort of goofy sense of humor, but where Harley has a sort of contagious energy about him, JD tends to have a calming affect on people. He isn't much of a toucher, but after being around Harley he's gotten used to not flinching when people touch him. When making music JD gives everything to it and sometimes that can really wring him out emotionally, so he tends to seek privacy after playing at concerts rather than going out to enjoy the fans or chatting with others.

History: Born August 23, 1978, in Las Vegas, NV, to a single mom, Diana Kessler. They traveled around a lot, being a kid he never really understood why until he got older that it was because his mom was a dealer. He had a younger half-sister, Christy, and an older half-brother, Daniel. When JD was ten he saw his mother's boyfriend shoot her five times, and his brother found the guy and shot him down in revenge then went to jail for life. He and his sister went to a foster home in Denver, and his sister ran away, and he still doesn't know where she is or if she's still alive. Even as a kid though JD loved to sing, he and his mom would sing along with the radio, and sometimes he'd try making up his own songs. He never actually thought he could make a career out of it. He finished his stint in the foster home, which wasn't too bad, everyone ignored him usually. Then he got a job on a construction crew, but he tended to sing when he worked, and a few of his work-mates talked him into getting up on a stage during a local talent night at a bar after work. He got entered into some competition, he wasn't sure how, and made it to the final on a local news show. A few agents called him, and he turned them all down, but it gave him a wake up call and a few months later he quit and headed off to Nashville. He didn't have the confidence though, and the agent he found wasn't exactly the best, and he didn't get a label willing to take him on as a singer, but they liked his songs, and one hired him as a songwriter's assistant.

Of all the friends JD made in Nashville, Harley Worth was the closest. Maybe because they both had suffered and had that same need to tell stories with their music. The fact that they could jam together without worrying about who was better helped also. It was Harley who taught JD how to loosen up, find the ridiculous in life, and put a little humor into his songs and helped him grow as a songwriter. It wasn't until two years ago though, that Harley's daughter, Heaven Leigh Worth, talked him and Harley into starting a band. They got together, wrote some songs, jammed to their hearts content, and then signed a contract with the Warner label, and the band Worth It was born. Worth It made it onto the charts with their first album a year ago called "Heaven Is Worth It". And the recent release of their second album, "All Tied Up", in which all the songs are written or co-written by Leigh and JD. It was a labor of love and the band's pride and joy. The fun and light-hearted song, "Rope Burns" about a girl trying to tie down her man, co-written by Leigh and JD, is most likely playing on a radio near you. So far Worth It's songs are limited to heartfelt ballads and light-hearted fun, but this is one band that has stories to tell and is on the way to great things.
